The SOS Pledge Program consists of a pledge that confirms ONE parent CAN do something to prevent teenage alcohol and drug use in a positive and loving way. Many parents together can make prevention a school and community standard.

What is C6SOS?
In 2007, the Fox C-6 School District was awarded a three year grant by the Department of Education. With this grant, the district implemented the following:
- Project Towards No Drug Abuse (Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration, SAMHSA): 10th grade classroom based prevention program
- High School Taught Education Program (HiSTEP) (National Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse, NCADA): a peer mentoring model that teaches high school students how to talk to middle school students about peer pressure, drugs and alcohol
- Parent Informational Forums: increase awareness and provide prevention information to the community
- Work with the Honorable Athletes program to host alcohol free events for students
This web site will remain to serve as a reminder and a resource for our community.
Being the “Designated” Friend
Hopefully you and your friends are making good decisions about drinking alcohol. Most teenagers, believe it or not, believe that drinking should be postponed for later in their lives, if at all. Even if you don’t drink yourself, your friends may drink occasionally or more often. The following information is intended to help you deal with the extreme situations that may come up when teenagers drink. This information is not intended to, in any way, condone underage drinking.
